Honk Kong exhibition pictures Hong Kong Exhibition displays Spitting Image puppet of Paul Gascgoine

Hong Kong 2006

WFE personnel helped to create a major exhibition for the Hong Kong Museum of History (HKMH) to coincide with the 2006 Word Cup finals in Germany.

The thematic instillation explores, amongst other things, the birth of football; the history of the world governing body of football, FIFA; the spread of the game throughout the world and the development of the women’s game.

The HKHM used the team to develop the exhibition concept; research and write the narrative content; undertake photographic and moving image research; select and supply the objects for display; write the audio guide and content graphic scripts and oversee all transportation and insurance issues.

The exhibition includes artefacts such as a match ball from the first Word Cup finals in 1930, a World Cup winners medal from 1966, Paul ‘Gazza’ Gascoigne’s ‘Spitting Image’ puppet, George Best’s last ever pair of football boots and a selection of signed shirts from David Beckham, Ronaldinho and Pele.

The exhibition will attract up to 250,000 visitors to the Special Exhibitions Gallery of the HKHM.
