On Thursday 8th February, World Football Exhibitions, in partnership with Vue Cinemas, held an exclusive premiere screening of the hit football movie Goal II, at the Vue Cinema in the Middlebrook Retail Park in Bolton.

Goal II charts the rise of fictional football star, Santiago Munez, who, after moving from Newcastle United to join the Galacticos of Real Madrid, earns the nickname ‘Supersub’ who’s performances from the bench demand a starting role in the UEFA Champions League Final.

As part of the evening, World Football Exhibitions arranged two very special guests to make a special appearance at the screening. In attendance were the glittering UEFA Champions League trophy and the original European Cup winning Supersub, Liverpool Legend David Fairclough.

Lucky ticket holders were treated to a Champagne reception at the Cinema and were welcomed to the Premiere Screening in the build-up to the upcoming Audience with the Soccer Legends being held at the Premier Suite of the Reebok Stadium on 29th March. Guests also had the opportunity to have their photograph taken with the magnificent trophy and chat with Liverpool Legend Fairclough on a very enjoyable night.

Mark Parkinson, Marketing Manager from Vue Cinemas had the following to say: “Fantastic, what can I say. To be able to bring the actual European Champions League trophy and real-life football heroes and European Cup Winners here tonight in person is awesome. World Football Exhibitions deserve a lot of credit for a really superbly-organised film premiere”.

Anthony Howarth, World Football Exhibitions Events Manager, said: “World Football Exhibitions is delighted to present this exclusive premiere screening. I would like to thank Buena Vista International and the team here at Vue Cinemas for allowing us the film and the screen. I would also like to say a big thank you to David Fairclough for supporting this event and also Liverpool Football Club for bringing the Champions League Trophy down here tonight, a trip to the Liverpool FC Museum and Tour Centre is a fantastic day out, whichever team you support”.
